A sixteen-ton crane has broken while transporting waste fuel in Bulgaria's only Nuclear Power Plant in Kozloduy, the plant reported.
The fuel and its container suffered no damages, and there have been no registered fluctuations in the gamma-background in the region.
Work on transporting the fuel has been ceased until the crane is fixed. Engineers have already started repairing the machine.
Preliminary assessment places the event at level zero, according to the International Nuclear Events Scale (INES), the plant claims.
Bulgaria's Nuclear Regulatory Agency (NRA) has been notified of the accident.
