Rochelle Becker will bring us up-to-date on the re-licensing plans for Diablo Canyon, moves to repeal the ban on new nuclear power plants in California, subsidies for nukes that undercut funding for renewables, how to refute claims that nuclear power is a solution to global warming, and various pieces of legislation aimed at reviving the nuclear power industry. Rochelle is the director of the Alliance for Nuclear Responsibility; she is Chair of the Sierra Club’s Diablo Canyon Task Force and serves on the National Sierra Club’s Radiation Committee.
