Alliance Victory At CPUC–Diablo Relicensing funds denied!
The California Public Utilities Commission has denied PG&E’s request for ratepayer funding to relicense Diablo Canyon nuclear plant. For two years, the Alliance has been reminding them that they need to complete the state required (AB 1632) updated seismic studies BEFORE applying for license renewal. PG&E flaunted state authority and applied nonetheless. Two years later, after many hearings and filings on behalf of the Alliance–not too mention the tragedies at San Bruno and Fukushima–the CPUC is finally heeding the wake up call.
