SB 1090
The Alliance for Nuclear Responsibility is supporting Senate Bill SB 1090, co-authored by Senator Bill Monning and Assemblyman Jordan Cunningham, of San Luis Obispo, California.
The legislation calls on the CPUC to approve elements of the Joint Proposal to retire Diablo Canyon that were not enacted by the initial CPUC decision. It requires the CPUC to approve the community impacts mitigation settlement of $85 million; directs the CPUC to manage its integrated resource plan to ensure there is no increase in green-house gas emissions as a result of the retirement of Diablo Canyon; and requires the CPUC to approve full funding of the $350 million employee retention program.
